BLOG UPDATE : A GOOD BEGINNING IS WORK HALF DONE

Henry Ford said Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”

I shared with you our thought process on how we started off the background work to identify the problems of our people in Vijayawada and creating a Manifesto “Vision Vijayawada”. We had tried our best to put on paper, the “Vijayawada that existed only in our dreams”. Many things were realistic and achievable, but some appeared completely impractical. Nevertheless, we wrote it down and hoped that someday we will achieve it. But the happenings of the last few days had given me a renewed vigour and the hope that every word that we had put in that document is achievable.
Now, I notice that many people across Vijayawada, across various sections of society had longed to see a better Vijayawada. Better in terms of sanitation, in terms of education and employment opportunities and better in terms of overall development. Many of them are approaching us daily to join YSR Congress Party and work with us. I am sure that with all their support, we can realise our dream. Among them were District ST Cell Chairman Shri.Nageswar Rao, State SC Cell Co-ordinator Shri.Adam and Rajika Cell President Shri.Nagaraju. Notable among them was Vijayawada City Congress President, Shri.Somi Naidu.
We also had hundreds of enthusiastic students from various city colleges landing at our party office and wanting to join our party. I stressed on the need to focus on their education in the prime of their youth and how education helps shaping up a man’s life. Speaking from a position of their parent,  I assured them that I shall utilise their good word-of-mouth, but only in their spare time. I promised to bring world-class education infrastructure and vocational training programs, in line with TAFE Australia.  If at all they remember me as a man instrumental in shaping their career, I think the purpose of my life is achieved.

TWO BIG STEPS IN MY LIFE

Two of the very important milestones in my life happened in the last one week, I should say, in the last two days. Born and brought up here, I always had a special place in my heart for Vijayawada. This land gave me my life, my values and my stature in society. I owe so much for this land. But, last several years the focus had mostly been my business and the commitments I had given to the stakeholders in my business.  Of course, I had contributed several times for the welfare of this city, be it building hospitals, schools etc. But I always knew that this is just not enough.
After deciding to get into public life, I started meeting directly, as well as through my team, hundreds of people in various areas to understand the major problems the people here are facing. We started putting it together in a document and started devising solutions on our drawing board. Some looked simple and within our limits, some looked Himalayan and might require moving the huge mechanisms of State and Central Governments. I dint care about the hurdles that may come in my way; that’s how I had always been. I resolved that each and every problem faced by my people should be solved, however big or small it may be.
We had noticed that the major issues are faced by economically backward people. In most cases, governments dint care for them and in many cases, the government schemes devised for them did not reach them. The worst part was that they never even knew that such a scheme existed. All this was included as part of the document. We addressed the needs of each section of this society, namely women, farmers, students, business owners and many more.
Thats how this “Vision Vijayawada” manifesto was born. And what better way than to unveil it on the occasion of the 123rd Birth Anniversary of B.R.Ambedkar. It was unveiled on 14th April 2014 and our Honorary President of YSR Congress Party, Shri.Vijayamma received the first copy.
Next day, 15th of April,  was another important day in my life. My resolution to enter public life was realised with the filing of nomination for the Lok Sabha seat at the Vijayawada Collectorate. The crowd turnout for the rally was huge. It was evident that these people needed a change and a solution to their problems. And it reinforced my resolution to implement “Vision Vijayawada”, come what may.
And I now know that the next few years are going to be life changing for me, as well as for you. Wish me as you would do to a member of your family
